Inspirational Story - Can't find a job? Time to get creative

Robert Darling in the epitome of what America is supposed to be. It is amazing how far we have strayed from what made America great. Maybe stories like Robert's will get us back there!

The first thing that struck me about this movie is not the fact that Robert decided to take his future into his own hands and start a business but rather that he was willing to stand on the streets holding a sign to find a job. He may have accepted unemployment money from the government to help bridge the gap but he was not going to live off of it. Why do you think immigrants (legal I should add) are able to come to the United States and be successful? It is not because the came expecting handouts, it is because they know that if they work hard and take chances, they can earn a good living to support their family and improve their quality of life. More and more Americans today think they are entitled to jobs and higher pay. Where did this come from??

The other inspirational piece I alluded to earlier was his ability and willingness to start his own business. It is a privilege that that we can do that today because the United States is a capitalist economy. Is Robert now an evil rich person that needs to pay higher and higher taxes? I would argue no, Robert deserves the extra money and comforts that he may realize down the road. Sure he'll pay more dollars in taxes but why should he pay an increased percentage because he took it upon himself to be successful. He worked hard, took a gamble, and if it pays off then I congratulate him and hope he remembers how he got there. As his business grows he'll employ others and with any luck he'll be able to an inspiration to others and help them to take a similar path.

Thank you Robert for a little bit of inspiration on this Friday morning!

Tea Party Hatred

This Tea Party demonization is getting out of control. Watch the following video:

In all due respect sir, you don't know the first thing that the Tea Party is about. The Tea Party is a diverse group of hard working Americans that are inclusive of any race, gender or age and are simply standing on the same principles. The principles that this country was founded on and became great because of, not in spite of.

Just because the Tea Party has successfully SLOWED the move toward socialism doesn't mean they hate a particular race. That idea is ridiculous! Why is it so hard to understand that a majority of people in this country identify with conservative values and believe that Obama, and prior presidents, were taking it in the wrong direction. It probably is true that the Tea Party is a minority but I do know that a minority group alone cannot accomplish what the Tea Party has. In order to do that you have to be saying and doing things that resonate with a majority so stop making this about race, gender or age and start calling it out for what it is, a diverse group of people standing for common principles.
